Creole World: Photographs of New Orleans and the Latin Caribbean Sphere
McNeese State University will kick off its fall 2016 SAGE series with a lecture on “Creole World: Photographs of New Orleans and the Latin Caribbean Sphere” by acclaimed New Orleans photographer Richard Sexton at 3 p.m. Monday, Sept. 26, in the SEED Center.
In his book with the same title, Sexton will talk about the historically rich, interconnected Creole world between New Orleans and Latin Caribbean cities with similar colonial histories such as Cuba, Ecuador, Argentina, Bolivia and Haiti. He became intrigued with this Creole world after traveling to Central and South America as a young man.
